Special Places

Here are a couple places I wish I could call my own.  I spent/spend a lot of time in these places.

 Longwood Gardens
This may just be the bathroom area, but it makes for an excellent view.  The artistic genius in this place is unbelievable.

One of the ponds on campus
I have always loved ponds.  They are beautiful, and make an excellent place for life to grow, such as the goslings in this picture.

 Calvert Cliffs National Park
This is a picture of the marsh area.  I love the trees, even though they all happen to be dead.  They interest me.  Also, this whole marsh was made by beavers.

The Tree of Life, Animal Kingdom, Disney World
Beautiful is all I can say about this.  The tree may be fake, but it's amazing nonetheless.

Keep Me Out of the Darkness

This is my charcoal painting.  There are two shells, one being larger and the other smaller.  They could be described as a family, such as a younger and an older sibling, or a mother and a child.  The "mother" shell is keeping the "baby" shell out of the darkness of her past, as she doesn't want her child to become like she was.  The child has a small shadow, and she could be forgiven of her mistakes, and the mother doesn't want her shadow to grow any bigger, so she is keeping her out of the darkness, hence my title.

I added in a light and dark merge.  I may not have a full value range for the dark, but it is enough to convey emotion.  I was going for a somewhat depressing mood.  Altogether, I'd give myself a 90-95%, as I have a realistic representation of shells, I have a nice range of values, my objects are quite cropped, and I have a zoomed in view, and I still have unoccupied space, as I didn't want to take up very much space, yet take up just enough.

Self-Portrait Photos

Hello, everyone.  I have a few photos I'd like to share of myself for my assignment.  I have five of them.  They probably need work, but I tried.
I call this one "Average Teen."  Always on the computer, lounging around, doing nothing.
This one is decent, but it's a bit blurry.
This one is titled "Fluff-feet."  I quite enjoy making fursuit costumes, and these are the feet from one of the costumes I made and have worn around Baltimore.  Fursuit costumes make people happy, and that makes me happy.
This one doesn't really have a title, but if I had to give it one, I'd call it "Graphic."  This is my Wacom Bamboo Pen and Touch tablet which I draw with for the computer.  I keep it in a special place in my room so it will never get hurt.  I've had it for almost three years now, and I plan on keeping it for a couple more.
This picture needs some serious adjusting, but I'll update it eventually.  It's my running shoes.  I keep them wherever I have easy access to them.  This one doesn't quite have a title yet.
This one is my favorite.  I call it "Color the World."  I love colors, and I love coloring, so this drawing is what I wish I could do to the sky every day - fill it with rainbows and make everyone happy.  Plus, this is what most girls who are just learning to draw always will draw, and I'm a child inside.

Alright!  That's all for now.  I'm going to try and update this blog weekly, and get as much as I can on here.  If I don't update with a drawing, that means I didn't draw anything interesting that week, and I'll just upload some notebook doodles.

Over and out!

My First Post, Sketchbook Cover!

Hello everyone, this is a blog for my art.  All kinds of art will be posted here.  Collages, sketchbook doodles, oil/watercolor paintings, and charcoal drawings, just to name a few!  I may make a separate blog for my crafts such as costumes.  Anyway, here is the cover for my newest sketchbook.  If I had to describe it in one word, I'd say "Happiness."
